Mr. Mealer is a 1982 graduate of Mtn. View High School and earned a BME degree from Henderson State University in 1987. At HSU Mr. Mealer studied with Don E.
Kramer, Wendell O. Evanson and Dr. Wes Branstein. Additional graduate coursework has been completed at PSU, MSU and WGU. Mr. Mealer has taught in Both Arkansas and Missouri. His Missouri experience included Monett, Webb City and Republic. His Arkansas teaching experience includes Pea Ridge, Pulaski County Special School District and Harrison.
His concert, marching and jazz bands in Missouri earned superior ratings exclusively and the Harrison bands under his direction have received the Arkansas "Sweepstakes" Citation Award. Bands under Mr. Mealer's direction have performed with distinction in Branson, Kansas City, St Louis, Winterpark - Colorado, Chicago, Orlando, Gettysburg - Pennsylvania and Washington DC. In 1993 his Monett concert band performed at the Missouri Music Educators Annual Conference. Mr. Mealer has conducted and been a guest clinician for bands in Arkansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, , Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy and Switzerland. Bands under Mr. Mealer direction have commissioned major concert, marching and jazz works from noted composers: Robert Sheldon, John Fannin, Pete Havely, Don Colquit and Phillip D Brittain.
Mr. Mealer is an active member of ABA, ASBOA, MBA, MMEA, NAfME, NBA and is on the John Philip Sousa Foundation Music Festival Committee. He is an active
adjudicator in Kansas and Missouri.
Mr. Mealer and his family (Rennee and Ashtyn) reside in Harrison.
